The Baviaanskloof from Willowmore

The Baviaanskloof, located in the Karoo midlands in the eastern cape province, is an interesting area to explore. It is a world heritage site because it has one of the hottest biodiversity hotspot in the world. It takes your breath away driving up the mountain passes, with both hands clutched to the chair hoping your vehicle doesn’t roll off the side, but when you get to the top it’s worth all the stress you might have faced driving up/down these mountain passes. ( there are 6 or 7 passes)

The Baviaanskloof is known for a few reasons; one is the biodiversity and endemic plant life and beauty, two is the cattle, sheep & goat farming, three is the tourism and unique accommodation, four is the hiking trails and nature reserve; five is the  the Baviaanskloof Honey from Bo-kloof farm.

Taking the Olfi with on this adventure helped to capture a lot of the hair raising moments and natural beauty in the kloof. With the Olfi mounted to the floating hand grip, it allowed for an easy way to film and capture the journey; capturing the drive through the kloof, the streams and river crossings, swimming in the natural pools, hiking to the Cedar Falls, camping and special moments.

The highlights of this trip was waking up in nature, reaching the top of the mountain passes, the nature reserve particularly “poortjies” and “Bergplass”  and seeing the mountain zebras & water buffalo.
